The Lake Erie & Western District ran from Sandusky Ohio to Peoria Illinois. It was divided into three divisions:

The Sandusky Division from Sandusky to Lima Ohio.

The Middle Division from Lima Ohio to Frankfort Indiana.

The Peoria Division from Frankfort Indiana to Peoria Illinois.

The LE&W District also had two north/south division:

The Indianapolis Division (also known as IMC) from Indianapolis and Michigan City.

The New Castle Division (also known as Fort Wayne Division prior to 1922) from Fort Wayne to Connersville with a Rushville Branch, from New Castle to Rushville (also known as the "Pig Tail" south of New Castle).
