Since 1965 the hands down best over-all source of information on the Nickel Plate Road, and it's predessors acquired by merger or lease, has been John Rehor's "The Nickel Plate Story" (Kalmbach Pub., now out of print). A previous work by Taylor Hampton, "The Nickel Plate Road" (World Pub. 1947) also offers historical information and photos, but is less comprehensive. Subsequent publications have been prolific, and many associated with the Nickel Plate Road Historical & Technical Society (NKPHTS).  A list will follow.
